Whistle Blowing

What is 'Whistle Blowing'?

As part of Shinhan Financial Group's constant drive to deepen its commitment to ethics and to provide easy-to-use tools for anyone to report inappropriate situations or those that are not in line with our principles or current laws and regulations we have put in place a new whistleblowing system “Shinhan Protector”, designed to prevent financial incidents and resultant critical losses. If your report is recognized as contributing to SHFG's management improvement, loss reduction, or accident prevention, you may receive a reward or positive performance review.

How Does It Work?

1. Person in Charge
  • Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)
2. What Kinds of Actions of Behaviors Can be Reported?
  • Violations of applicable laws, regulations, and the Code of Ethics
  • Illegal or unfair behaviors related to accounting, internal accounting, and auditing
  • Illegal or unfair business practices that result in losses or undermine public trust
  • Financial misconducts and their concealments or attempts to conceal them
  • Other misconduct activities or potential wrongdoings
3. Who Can Use It?
  • All group employees (whether they have a permanent or temporary contract), no matter their role, activity sector, or country.
4. Anonymous Reporting
  • CCO receives and investigates every report for potential misconducts.
  • We respect the confidentiality of the whistleblower’s identity and ensure that reports from whistleblowers are forwarded anonymously to the CCO if desired.
  • Discrimination and retaliatory actions against whistleblowers are strictly prohibited.
5. Reporting Channels
  • You can make a report via the SFG Official website (including mobile app) and Swing Bulletin.
  • Call at 02-6360-3209 or send a fax at 02-6360-3188. CCO can be reached via email or interview.
